High School Bootcamp Program

2025 High School Boot Camp

The UCLA Summer Research Boot Camp in Adolescent Development is an annual boot camp for high school students at participating schools in the Los Angeles area. The boot camp is supported by the UCLA Center for the Developing Adolescent and led by UCLA professor of education Sandra Graham and CDA’s co-executive director Andrew Fuligni.

Pre-Doctoral Training Program in Brain and Behavioral Development During Adolescence

The UCLA Pre-Doctoral Training Program in Brain and Behavioral Development during Adolescence (UCLA BBDA) is hosted by the UCLA Center for the Developing Adolescence and directed by co-executive directors Andrew J. Fuglini and Adriana Galván, as well as UCLA professor Mirella Dapretto. This program aims to provide scientific training, science communication training, and exposure to the use of science in policy and practice to PhD students at UCLA interested in adolescent development and neuroscience.

Program Information

This program is funded by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

The study of adolescent brain development focuses on three substantive growth areas necessary for the field to have translational impact and improve the health and lives of the nation’s youth: (1) an integrative approach that incorporates both typical and atypical brain development; (2) the interaction between brain development and the social environment; and (3) sophisticated approaches to examining longitudinal change over time. We accomplish this by providing an intensive mentored research experience, dedicated coursework designed for the program, access to cutting-edge faculty and research centers, as well as comprehensive professional training that provides trainees with the toolkit necessary to become productive and impactful independent scientists.

This program is only open to current UCLA PhD students in participating departments.
